The following safari is a suggested route and can be tailor made and adjusted to your specific needs. This safari can be only 2 days if you choose or you can extend it up to 6 days.

This is the perfect tour for those who want to experience the very best that the Okavango Delta and Savuti has to offer with your choice of a Luxury, Standard or Adventure Safari.

Day 1: Island Safari Lodge/ Thamalakane River lodge. You will be met on arrival at the Maun airport and transferred to one of the lodges based just out of town on the banks of the river. Here you will settle down for an afternoon of relaxation. Enjoy a sundowner drink sitting around the swimming pool under the trees with the cheerful sound of monkeys, birds and animals around you. The choice of an afternoon or sunset cruise is always a good option to start your tour off on a high note.

Day 2 and 3: Moremi Game Reserve. The Moremi National Park is the only game reserve in the Okavango Delta. To visit this world-renown area you have 3 choices: Fly-in to one of the exclusive lodges, travel by boat or you can visit the eastern part of the Okavango by vehicle. It is the first reserve in Africa that was established by tribesmen concerned about the rapid depletion of wildlife. The Moremi Game reserve is home to elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeest, buffalos and many more species.

For your safari, you will depart from the lodge early morning. You will be picked up by an open game viewing vehicle and taken from the lodge to the Moremi National Park.

The Moremi is a wild area with only limited facilities, but the game viewing is wonderful. You will spend the morning doing a game-drive and in the meanwhile, staff will prepare your private campsite for you. You will have a packed lunch under a shady tree and by the time you arrive back at camp, you can enjoy a cold beer and dinner around the fire.

Camping in the Moremi and taking game drives during these 2 days will take you deeper into the Okavango Delta. The mobility of safari vehicles and the excellent knowledge of your game ranger/guide increase the likelihood that you will see at least some of the big five. Birdlife is guaranteed to be extraordinary, particularly during the summer months. The vegetation in Moremi Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta promises to be fantastic.

Included in this safari is all transport, meals, camping equipment, bedding, open safari vehicle, guides and a cook to ease the comfort of your stay in the Moremi Game Reserve.

If you choose a short safari, you can return to the lodge after these two wonderful days in the bush. You can spend another night at the lodge and then be transferred back to the Maun airport for your flight home.

Day 4 and 5: Savuti. If you prefer to extend your safari, you will depart from Moremi to Savuti in the Chobe National Park. You will travel through the thick sandy plains in the game viewing vehicle, keeping a constant eye open for game until you reach the Savuti, Linyanti area.

Savuti forms the border between Chobe, Linyanti, and Moremi. These systems all drain into the mighty waterways of the Okavango Delta. Over the years, Savuti has become known for the large lion pride who hunt game at the watering holes. It is not uncommon to have wild dogs, lions, leopard, hyena and elephants roaming through the Savuti campsite.

Again, your bush camp will be set up for you and you will enjoy meals around the campfire. It is recommended to stay a minimum of 2 nights when visiting Savuti. It takes 6 - 8 hours from any direction to reach this isolated wilderness area.

Day 6 and 7 is also optional.

If you should choose to continue with your safari, you will depart from Savuti to Chobe, Kasane. Here you can enjoy the luxury of staying at the lovely Chobe Safari Lodge. Meals are excellent and the atmosphere tranquil. Wildlife abounds in and around the Chobe River. Relax at the pool, enjoy drinks on the deck overlooking the river, take a game drive in the Chobe National Park in the early morning and an afternoon sunset cruise on the river. You can enjoy a day trip to Victoria Falls if so requested.

After a relaxed two days, your safari will be at an end and you will be transferred to the Kasane Airport for your flight home.
